- Bushmaster has a bad track record with manufacturing AR 15s and frankly that history has carried on well into today. Since they are typically made with unstaked gas keys, unstaked castle nuts, low quality barrels, tight chambers, carbine buffers, either over or undersized gas ports, and a host of other problems most of us on this site will not want to take it any farther than a dirt blasting.

Double asterisk (.) under Bushmaster, a person on the internet e-mailed me that he had a lower that was shipped stripped (thus not a complete rifle) in 1991 from Bushmaster with serial #0327XX - ALWAYS CALL TO VERIFY.
